Strictly Business
Strictly Business A “Buppie” investment broker falls for a free-spirited beauty bringing comedic chaos upon his button down career and lifestyle. A romantic lark with a dynamic rap soundtrack starring Halle Berry (The Flintstones) Year: 1991 Director: Kevin Hooks Starring: Tommy Davidson, Joseph C.Phillips, Halle Berry
Customer Review: Great Ethnic Comedy
Tommy Davidson adds great life to an otherwise melo list of charaters in this film. He is funny, peppy, and hip in his role as street smart punk and “thug”. The story line is not the biggest focus as are the sketches of ethnic personal relationships, brown nosers in the office and “uncle Toms” in the workplace. Ofcourse Halle Berry is the foxes fox in her role as a cutie. There are some very funny scenes and the message of dealing in a business world where minorities seem to get the short end is consistent throughout the film.
However, it does have the strong Cinderella line to it where the good guy seems to beat the odds and real world obstacles and make it to the top. That’s the fantasy part. But it’s a good dream. Enjoy the ride.
